What is V-beam?

V-beam is a pulsed dye laser made by Candela. It emits yellow 595 nm light that red blood vessels absorb strongly, with a cryogen spray that cools the skin just before each pulse. Models include Vbeam Perfecta and Vbeam Prima.

In Apgujeong it is used for red post-acne marks, flushing, rosacea, capillaries and red scars.

How it works

The laser heats hemoglobin and closes small vessels. At gentle settings it clears redness with no marks; at higher settings it can cause purpura (bruising) but clears vessels faster.

  • Rosacea and flushing

  • Temporary pigment change
  • Rare blistering

  • Cool compress

V-beam questions

Will V-beam leave bruises?

Only at higher energy. Most cosmetic sessions in Korea use settings that leave little or no bruising.

Can V-beam treat red acne marks?

Yes, it is a common choice for red post-acne marks.

Does V-beam hurt?

It feels like a snap, with a cold spray before each pulse.

How is V-beam different from IPL?

V-beam is a single wavelength focused on vessels. IPL treats both pigment and redness but less precisely.

Can V-beam be used on new surgical scars?

Yes, it is often started a few weeks after surgery to reduce redness.

How long does V-beam redness last after treatment?

Mild redness usually settles within a day at low settings. Bruises from higher settings fade over 7 to 10 days.
