06 · Questions

Before you book

  • Do clinics in Apgujeong speak English?

Larger plastic surgery and dermatology clinics near Apgujeong and Sinsa stations usually have an international coordinator. Many smaller clinics answer the phone in Korean only. We can call ahead and book for you.

  • Can tourists get treated without Korean health insurance?

Yes. Any registered clinic can treat you. You pay the full fee, which for cosmetic treatments is the same price Koreans pay because those treatments are not covered by insurance anyway.

  • Is the VAT refund for cosmetic procedures still available?

No. The refund scheme for foreign patients ended on 31 December 2025. Bills to restore it were filed in 2026 but had not passed as of October 2026. Ask the clinic whether the quote includes the 10% VAT.

  • Why do so many Apgujeong clinics show a Sinsa-dong address?

Apgujeong-dong itself has only 12 registered clinics. The clinic streets around Apgujeong Station sit in Sinsa-dong, and those near Apgujeong Rodeo sit in Sinsa-dong or Cheongdam-dong. That is why we group clinics by nearest station.

  • How far ahead should I book?

For lasers and injectables, a few days is usually enough. For surgery, book the consultation 2 to 4 weeks ahead and keep your return flight flexible until the surgeon confirms your recovery plan.

  • Where does your clinic data come from?

From the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (HIRA) hospital register, September 2026 release. It lists every licensed clinic with its address, phone and doctor counts.
