What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty reduces the size of the labia minora or evens out asymmetry. Women request it for rubbing during exercise or cycling, irritation with tight clothing, or appearance.

In Korea it is done at gynecology and some plastic surgery clinics, usually as day surgery.

How it works

The surgeon marks the amount to remove with you before starting. The edge trim method removes the outer edge in a smooth line. The wedge method cuts a V-shaped section and keeps the natural edge and color. Fine dissolving stitches close the wound. Some clinics use a laser or radiofrequency scalpel to reduce bleeding.

Edge trim or wedge, which suits me?

Edge trim gives a cleaner, smaller edge and removes darker margins. Wedge keeps the natural edge but has a slightly higher risk of wound separation. The choice depends on your anatomy and what you want changed.

Can the clitoral hood be reduced at the same time?

Yes, excess hood skin is often trimmed in the same operation so the result looks balanced. Ask the surgeon to explain how much is removed.

Do I need to schedule around my period?

Most clinics prefer surgery a few days after your period ends, so you are not managing pads and bleeding during the first healing days.

How long until I can sit comfortably on a plane?
