What is Radiesse (CaHA)?

Radiesse is a filler made by Merz Aesthetics. It is a gel of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres in a carboxymethylcellulose carrier. It gives firm structure right away and keeps working by stimulating collagen as the gel is absorbed.

Gangnam clinics use it for the jawline, chin and cheeks, and in a diluted form ('hyperdilute Radiesse') to tighten crepey skin on the face, neck and décolletage.

How it works

The gel carrier lifts the tissue immediately. Over 1-3 months the carrier is absorbed and the CaHA particles signal fibroblasts to build collagen around them.

Undiluted, it works like a firm filler for contour. Diluted with saline and spread across the skin, it acts more like a biostimulating skin booster.

Can Radiesse be dissolved like HA filler?

No. Hyaluronidase does not break down CaHA, though the body absorbs it over 12-18 months.

Why not use Radiesse in the lips?

It is firm and can form nodules in mobile, thin tissue. Lips and under-eyes need soft HA fillers.

What is hyperdilute Radiesse?

The product is mixed with saline and spread through the skin to stimulate collagen and tighten texture, without adding visible volume.

How many syringes for a jawline?

Many patients need 1-2 syringes for the jaw and chin together. Your doctor will assess bone shape and skin thickness.

Is Radiesse the same as Sculptra?

Both stimulate collagen, but Radiesse also gives immediate structure while Sculptra builds volume gradually.

Does Radiesse show on X-rays or CT scans?

CaHA can be visible on imaging. Tell your radiologist you have had it so it is not mistaken for something else.
