What is Skin Botox (Micro Botox)?

Skin Botox, also called micro Botox or meso Botox, uses the same toxin as wrinkle Botox but in a much more diluted form. The doctor places many shallow droplets across the cheeks, forehead, jawline or neck instead of a few deep shots into muscle.

Koreans book it for a smoother, less oily look before events. It does not replace lifting devices, but it can give a mild tightening along the jawline and neck.

How it works

Toxin in the superficial layer relaxes the tiny muscle fibers attached to the skin and reduces activity of sweat and oil glands. Pores look smaller, shine drops and fine lines soften.

Many clinics mix the toxin with a skin booster or use an injector gun to spread it evenly. Expect dozens to a few hundred micro-injections per area.

Wrinkle Botox goes into the muscle at a few points. Skin Botox is diluted and spread in many shallow droplets, so it changes skin texture and oil without freezing expression.

Will my face look stiff?

Proper dilution keeps expression normal. Ask the doctor to avoid the area right around the mouth if you speak or sing for work.

Can skin Botox lift my neck lines?

It can soften horizontal neck bands and give a mild tightening effect. Deep neck creases usually also need a skin booster or filler.

Does it help rosacea-type redness?

Some doctors use it to reduce flushing, and small studies support this, but results are less predictable than for oil and pores.

How often should I repeat it?

Most people repeat every 2-3 months. Effects on oil production fade a little sooner than effects on fine lines.

Is it painful?
