What is Thermage FLX Eye?

Thermage Eye uses the Thermage FLX system with a small 0.25 cm2 tip designed for the eyelids and the skin around the eyes. Solta Medical has clearance for treating periorbital wrinkles, including on the upper and lower lids, and it is one of the few energy devices used directly on the eyelid.

In Apgujeong it is often added to a full-face Thermage session for people who notice hooding at the outer upper lid or fine crepey lines under the eyes but are not ready for blepharoplasty.

How it works

Plastic corneal shields are placed under the eyelids after numbing eye drops. The doctor then pulses the small tip across the lid skin and around the eye, heating the dermis to contract collagen and start new collagen production.

Shots are counted separately from the face, usually 225 or 450 per treatment.

Aftercare

Remove contact lenses on the day and wear glasses until the next morning
Avoid eye makeup for 24 hours
Do not rub the eyes
Sleep with the head slightly raised the first night if puffy

Planning around your trip

Bring glasses instead of contacts on treatment day, and avoid booking it the day before a long flight if your eyes tend to swell.

Are the eye shields uncomfortable?

Most people feel pressure rather than pain once the anesthetic drops take effect. The shields stay in only for the eye portion, about 15 to 20 minutes.

How many shots are used for the eyes?

Clinics in Korea usually offer 225 or 450 shots for both eyes. 450 shots allows more passes over the upper lid and crow's feet.

Will Thermage Eye lift my upper eyelid like surgery?

No. It tightens skin and can soften mild hooding, but it does not remove skin or fat. If skin rests on the lashes, a blepharoplasty consult is more useful.

Can I wear contact lenses afterwards?

Wait until the next day so the cornea can recover from the shields and drops.

Can I do Thermage Eye together with full-face Thermage?

Yes, this is a common combination. The eye tip is a separate cartridge, so it is priced in addition to the face shots.

Is it safe for monolid or Asian eyelids?

Yes, the treatment does not change the crease structure. It mainly firms the skin and is used widely in Korean patients.
