What is Under-eye Filler (Tear Trough)?
Tear trough filler targets the groove between the lower eyelid and the cheek. When this area is hollow, it casts a shadow that looks like dark circles even after sleep.
It is a delicate area. Clinics use soft, low-swelling fillers such as Belotero or Restylane and small volumes. It also fills 애교살 (aegyo-sal), the small roll under the lash line that is popular in Korea, but that is a separate request.
How it works
The doctor usually uses a blunt cannula placed deep on the bone through one entry point near the cheek. Tiny amounts are laid along the groove so the lid-cheek junction blends.
If puffy fat bags are the main problem, filler can make them look worse. Lower blepharoplasty or fat repositioning is the better fix there.

Under-eye Filler (Tear Trough) questions
Will under-eye filler fix my dark circles?
It helps shadow caused by hollowness. Brown pigment or visible veins need laser or skin treatments instead.
What is the Tyndall effect?
A bluish tint that appears when HA sits too close to thin skin. It can be corrected by dissolving the filler.
How much filler goes under each eye?
Usually 0.25-0.5cc per side. Larger amounts raise the chance of puffiness.
Is filler or surgery better for under-eye bags?
Filler suits hollows without much fat bulge. Bulging fat pads respond better to under-eye fat repositioning surgery.
Why does under-eye filler cost more per cc?
Clinics use premium soft fillers and more time for this area, and the risk of complications is higher.
Can I get aegyo-sal filler at the same time?
Yes, many clinics offer both together. Aegyo-sal usually takes about 0.2-0.5cc.
