What is PicoSure?

PicoSure is a picosecond laser made by Cynosure. It fires 755 nm alexandrite pulses in trillionths of a second, breaking pigment into tiny particles with less heat than older Q-switched lasers. The Focus lens array splits the beam to create small zones in the skin that stimulate collagen without breaking the surface.

In Apgujeong it is used for freckles, sun spots, tattoo ink and dull or uneven skin, often in short courses.

How it works

The very short pulse creates a pressure effect that shatters pigment, which the body then clears. With the Focus lens, energy concentrates into small points under the skin, prompting gradual collagen remodeling for texture and fine scars.

What is the difference between PicoSure and other pico lasers?

PicoSure uses 755 nm, which is strong on blue, green and brown pigment. Others such as PicoPlus or PicoWay rely more on 1064 and 532 nm.

What is PicoSure Pro?

It is the updated PicoSure model released by Cynosure in 2023 with revised optics. Some Gangnam clinics advertise it by name.

Can PicoSure remove freckles in one session?

Many freckles fade a lot after one session, but some need 2 or 3.

Does PicoSure treat melasma?

It is sometimes used at very low energy, but melasma is better managed with a full plan that includes medication and sun control.
