What is Jaw Botox (Masseter)?

Jaw Botox, called 사각턱 보톡스 in Korean, treats the masseter, the chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw. When this muscle is large, the lower face looks square. Relaxing it lets the muscle shrink and the face narrows toward a softer V shape.

It is one of the cheapest injectables on Gangnam price lists, so many visitors add it to another booking. It cannot change bone width, so a wide jaw caused by bone needs a different approach.

How it works

The doctor asks you to clench, marks the bulk of the masseter and injects at 3-5 points per side. Without regular strong contraction, the muscle loses bulk over the following weeks.

Doses are usually 25-50 units per side with Korean toxins. The first session gives a partial change and a second session 3-4 months later often holds the shape longer.
